Activity Based Education

Education at City Pride School is based on a project approach with exposure through field visits, research projects, science workshops and presentations. The Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation pattern (C.C.E.) is followed meticulously in the school. Our education system aims at helping students understand facts by working hands-on, applying simpler and investigative ways of learning to arouse interest and develop better understanding. The science lab on the principles of the Gakken education system of Japan is an apt example of learning science through observation and enquiry. Various environment protection activities are taken up by the school with active participation by students, making children ready for out-of-the-box thinking and developing their all-round personalities.

Outbound Learning — Field Visits, Picnics, Excursions

Learning beyond four walls is an essential element of school life at City Pride. From a cow shed to an ice-cream factory, from a manufacturing industry to IISER, from Aga Khan Palace to Lal Mahal, and from a blind school to an orphanage, we take our kids to around 50 places of significance throughout their school years. These visits are aimed at immersive learning through observation, interaction and creating awareness about the life around them.

Teacher Development

We strongly believe the strength of every school lies in its teaching standards. All our teachers are qualified, trained and experienced, selected through a rigorous process. The student-teacher ratio of 15:1 enables balanced distribution of work with collective, participative sharing of academic delivery. Teachers are enriched with regular on-the-job training to improve proficiency and adopt new techniques; every teacher completes a minimum of 25 hours of training per year. Our teachers are tech-savvy, using AI tools and platforms like Microsoft tools efficiently, and attend seminars and workshops on project methodologies, teaching strategies and behavioural programmes conducted by eminent faculties. The school has also appointed experts, professionals and performers from fields of art, music, dance, sports, animation, engineering and technology to impart high quality training. All our teachers are paid by industry standards with benefits like gratuity, PF and subsidised education for their children.

Dance and Music through Performing Art

With our vision to develop enlightened citizens, the school gives special emphasis to developing cultural and creative instincts in our children. Excellent infrastructure in terms of performing art rooms for music, dance and instruments is provided on campus. Children learn classical and western dance and music and instruments like keyboard, drums and guitar throughout their schooling years. From lower KG students are introduced to performing arts for better synchronisation of the body and expression of emotions, while from Grade 1 they learn one visual and performing art among the available choices. Full-time coaches, expert faculty and artists mentor the children.

Sports and Physical Education

Games and exercise are an important means of recreation, building team spirit and positivity. The school has a state-of-the-art in-campus playground to bring out the sporting talents of children and inculcate a spirit of sportsmanship. Specialised coaching is provided in games like volleyball, basketball, athletics and karate. CPS sports club conducts coaching for various sports in the morning and evening under expert coaches, and students participate and win at state, national and international level competitions regularly.

Life Skills for Positive Personality

Life skills are built as habits when kids are young. Being proactive, beginning with the end in mind, prioritising, thinking win-win, empathising, synergising and revitalising your energies regularly are the 7 habits of effectiveness. Believing that habits are built and not taught, City Pride has brought in the complete “Leader in Me” programme from the Stephen Covey Foundation, USA, for students from Grade 2 onwards. Integrating role plays, debates, group discussions and presentations with teaching makes children confident and expressive. The counselling and soft-skill departments work together to bring out inner positivity as well as outer grace and confidence. Mornings start with group meditation or inspiring videos, while “emotional bank accounts” in each class help kids appreciate their friends and feel valued.

Intra-school Competitions — Exploring Hidden Talents

City Pride believes each child is unique and has a natural urge to perform and showcase their talents. At City Pride we celebrate an intra-school week where all kids are encouraged to participate — an individual talent show like elocution, solo dance and music, role play, drawing and craft work, or a group performance. Every year each kid participates in different competitions and prepares enthusiastically, building awareness, interest and confidence. Over the years we have discovered many hidden gems in the school through this talent show, and winners are awarded trophies and medals.
